How Do Grades In Music Work?

Music classes occur once a week for 45 minutes. During that time, each student can receive up to 12 points for their weekly music grade.

  • 4 points for Behavior (Following our class social contract)
  • 4 points for Participating (Giving all activities their best effort)
  • 4 points for Assessments (Did they achieve the goals of the lesson or not?)

Over the course of a quarter, students attend music a maximum of ten times (ten weeks), meaning they may earn up to a total of 120 possible points. Grades are typically updated the same day as their class, if not by the end of that same week.

If a student loses points for any reason, Mrs. C will leave a comment on the grade for that day in powerschool for the reason behind the change. If it is a recurring issue, she will contact home via either Brightarrow, a phone call, or an email to make you aware of the problem.

You can always check on your student's weekly music grade by signing in to the Powerschool Portal and clicking on their music grade.
